Patient Participation Group – Launch of a new e-PPG

Relaunch of our Patient Participation Group

As a practice, we value the thoughts and opinions of our patients when it comes to how we deliver our services.

Traditionally we have had meetings a few times a year to consult with a group of patients and bounce ideas with them about new ventures or changes in process.

However, in recent meetings we decided that the small number of patients able to attend these meetings wasn’t quite representative enough and so we’ve had a rethink about how we engage with our service users.

To that end, we’ve decided to launch an electronic PPG in the form of a closed Facebook Group.

All new patients will be invited to join, and we will only review membership should the numbers become unmanageable; after all, the more voices heard the better!

• We’ll post ideas, with patients able to respond via comment AND/OR fill out anonymous surveys.
• We’ll remain accessible – this group WILL NOT replace face to face meetings – it’ll just run alongside them as a way to get more people involved with less time commitments.
• We’ll be inclusive – patients will be able to fill out a paper copy of the questionnaires, which we can make available in all translatable formats.
• We’ll be interactive – there will be a dedicated member of the New Islington team who will moderate comments and respond to viewpoints.
